About toollens

There are more than twenty thousand AI tools, and finding the right one still feels like guesswork. Most directories list everything and tell you nothing: no real prices, no honest ratings, no sense of which tool actually fits the thing you're trying to build.

toollens is our answer: every AI tool, through one lens. Tool profiles carry live pricing read from the maker's own pricing page (with curated, date-verified prices for the major tools), ratings and comments from real toollens members, and public signals like GitHub stars and Hacker News discussions — gathered automatically from official APIs, never scraped.

The Lens Planner goes a step further: describe what you want to build in plain language and it assembles a step-by-step toolkit, free-tier first, so you can start without spending anything.

What we believe

• Honesty over hype. Prices show when they were verified. Ratings only exist when real people gave them. When we can't verify something, we say so.
• Free-first. Most projects can start at $0 — the site is built to find that path.
• Sponsored means labelled. Any paid placement is always marked as such.

Who builds this

toollens is built in India, for builders everywhere, by Gautham (@Gautham7krish) — an independent developer who got tired of tab-hopping between tool lists, pricing pages, and Reddit threads to answer one question: what should I actually use?
